No Man’s Sky, considered one of the biggest disappointments in gaming history, managed to return after eight years. The game has received hundreds of free updates since 2016, with positive reviews on Steam.
No Man’s Sky achieved a first in eight years
After a disappointing debut in 2016, No Man’s Sky has made an incredible comeback thanks to Hello Games’ high-level updates. The game has reached a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam, marking the culmination of years of work.
When it was first released, players were disappointed with the lack of content and unrealised features. Reviews on Steam were described as ‘Extremely Negative’ and raised concerns about the future of the game. However, Hello Games continued to improve the game with updates.
This work has gradually paid off over the years. The game started to receive ‘Mixed’, then ‘Mostly Positive’ reviews. Hello Games President Tim Woodley also talked about the difficulty of turning from negative to positive.
Finally, after eight years, No Man’s Sky managed to reach a ‘Very Positive’ review. Studio Founder Sean Murray shared this success on X and thanked Hello Games employees and players.
Recently, the studio has been working on its next project, Light No Fire, a fantasy-themed Light No Fire with an Earth-sized fantasy theme. The story of No Man’s Sky will be transferred to this production.
